You do not need special phrases to use AI well. A good request tells the assistant what you are trying to achieve and what a useful answer looks like.
The simple formula
Give four pieces of information: goal, context, constraints, and output format.
For example: “Help me write a friendly email declining an invitation. I know the person well, but I cannot attend because of a schedule conflict. Keep it under 100 words and offer another time to meet.”
This gives the assistant enough direction without writing the answer for it.
Improve the first answer
Ask what assumptions it made. Point out what feels off. Request a shorter version, a different tone, or a table of options. Treat the exchange as editing, not as a single magic command.
Keep a review step
Check factual claims, names, dates, and links. If you provide private material, understand the tool's settings first. For high-stakes topics, use authoritative sources and professional advice.
